Say Hello To Shareable Video in PostBeyond!

Today we’re excited to announce that we’ve officially launched Shareable Video for PostBeyond, now available for all employee advocacy programs.

The role of video is increasingly growing across all social media platforms. According to LinkedIn, video content generates 20x more shares than other types of content on its platform.

Many of our customers have asked us, “can our employees share video content with their social networks?” And now, the answer is yes. You can integrate video content into your employee advocacy program. Employees can reach, engage, and connect with their social connections by sharing videos hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.

With Shareable Video, you can easily:

  • Share Vimeo or YouTube hosted videos on social networks.
  • Play videos within LinkedIn and Twitter without opening a new browser.
  • Track how your viewers are engaging with your content.

More and more organizations have increased their use of video to humanize their brand, enhance brand visibility, and engage with potential customers.

The growing use of video content is why we wanted to make sure that videos were a part of the PostBeyond’s employee advocacy platform.

The importance of video in a social media strategy

What’s causing such a major shift towards video-focused content in employee advocacy strategies?

For starters – and maybe really the only point that is needed – is that audiences spend 3 times more watching videos than any other type of content. In fact, about a third of all online activity is spent watching videos. People have been shown to process visual data 60,000 times faster than text, which explains why people have been craving video content over the last few years.

Why are we doing this now?

As always, customer feedback is the most important driving force for why we build new features.

Our customers are standing at the forefront of world-class social media and employee advocacy strategies and having video content was incredibly important to them. We wanted to make sure our customer’s voice was heard.

One of our IT & Services customers uses Vimeo videos to promote their webinars and product updates. They were looking for a seamless way to get video content into their employees’ and partners’ social feed. Now, their employees are able to share the video content and their social connections can play the videos.

Publish video content through YouTube and Vimeo

YouTube and Vimeo are among the most popular websites in the world. Our customers already had an existing library of videos hosted on those platforms. We wanted to make it easier for those videos to be part of their employee advocacy program.

When we built the feature, we quickly realized that one of the great benefits with YouTube and Vimeo hosted videos was their robust analytics and metrics. They are really insightful for figuring out how people are engaging with your videos.

As an example, one of our customers in Professional Services has a wide-spanning video strategy, with new videos posted to YouTube multiple times per week about what their consultants are working on and how they are changing the world. These videos get shared around the world and they use this information to know what markets to target in future campaigns.

How can I share video content with PostBeyond?

Now, it’s easier than ever to share video content on social media. With Shareable Video, you can enable your employees to share video content and track how it’s performing. Most importantly, your audience will be able to watch and enjoy your video content right within LinkedIn or Twitter.

To get started with video content, create new posts that include a link to YouTube or Vimeo videos. You can also pull in YouTube subscriptions to save you the work of creating all your content from scratch!
